 How I Guide You...

I’ve been a “normal” business consultant for over twenty years. And then I found IFS.

And it’s the perfect blend.

IFS and coaching blend strategy, feelings, and clear action steps that align with your goals.

We’ll work with your parts to uncover what is holding you back from building a business and life that feels authentic, sustainable, and joyful.

Who I am….

When I was a little girl, I loved to play business. I had restaurants where I placed a tiny table for my dolls on the stair landing. For my grocery store, I took all the food out of the cupboards and displayed it in the living room, convincing my Mom to buy the groceries from me with real money. I had the Woodley Street Kid’s Club, where kids paid me $1 to hang out. We did field trips and science experiments.

When I was a junior in High School, I took my first Entrepreneurship class and was HOOKED. It was the most fun. I majored in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship in college. For my senior project, I started a seasonal Christmas store in an old, renovated dairy barn outside my hometown. I’ve owned businesses that succeeded and businesses that didn’t. I have lost money (or bought experience?!) and made the ubiquitous “six-figure income.”

For the past twenty-some years, I’ve been a business coach and consultant, working primarily with women who are starting or growing a business. I’ve found that women very rarely separate their business from their life, so I’ve also become a certified Life Coach (although that term has been so overused and can represent Charleton, it is the term most people use. The term coach also sends me right back to middle school when I went to state with my softball team, and my coaches made us do things like “run” and “throw,” and you know what, I didn’t think those things were fun! Ok, I digress.) I like to think of myself more as a GUIDE along your journey. I have some tools like a map for how typically businesses are started and run. Or how life is typically “run,” and then I think —all of this is made up! There are no real rules! Why are we doing anything the way we are “supposed” to? GROSS! Let’s do it our way. Let’s do it YOUR way. The way that feels good to your system. The way your Self Energy leads.

I always say there are two things you must do in business: file stuff with the government to set up your business and file your taxes. That’s IT. Everything else you get to decide. And you know what, life is kind of the same. File your stuff with the government and pay your taxes, and that’s it. The rest is 100% up to you and how you want to live. Seriously.

I’m no longer a typical business and life guide. Sometimes, I use divination tools like Oracle Cards or a Pendulum to get clarity. Spreadsheets, flowcharts, and project management tools are important, too. It's just not MORE important than our intuition.

I should tell you that I have some other credentials that you might care about. Along with my BA in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship, I also have a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership. I’ve run a non-profit for the last eight years that focused on our historic downtown businesses and hosted large events.

Ok, enough of that stuff. Because I’m a firm believer that the universe rewards COURAGE, not credentials.

How can I help you and your parts be courageous in your life and/or business?
